Installed Suse 9.2 few days ago and managed to play my mp3s from the ntfs disk.
So far so good... Now for some questions:
The sound is still in stereo, not 5.1. I opened the 3D channels in the volume control thingy, but that does not change anything. Can't see anything 5.1 in Yast2 or in the docu. Do I need a driver? It did detect the soundcard as ac97 onboard....
Some for video card. It detects the 9600SE as a normal 9600, but does not allow 3d accel. Plus the picture is very small. It is at 1024x768, but there's 2cm black on each side. The resize option is the OS can't compensate for that much. Checked the ati site for "linux" but they label them with things like
QUOTE
"ATI Proprietary Linux x86 Drivers for XFREE86 / X. Org Version 8.14.13"
, which does not make me any wiser. I want 2 try the screensavers, but they don;t work without 3d accel
Is there a central place for Suse/linux drivers?
How the hell does one pronounce suse????
thanks
Martin
