Hey all

I'm busy doing my first linux installation on a RAID machine. The machine is destined to be a server, and is a virgin box, so no Windows CD's will go within 100 yards of it.

Its using a Gigabyte GA-8IPE1000 Pro-G motherboard, which is based on 865PE, and runs the ITE8212 raid controller.

RH9 seems to have ITE raid controller support, yet when I do the installation, I get no prompts to set up my raid arrays, and RH seems to want to partition them as 2 std drives.

Can anyone gimme some advice on how to do this?

shouldn't you configure the RAID array in the bios of the RAID chipset first? It will then make the 2 drives seem as 1 for the OS.

Gigabyte uses 1 raid controller for SATA and IDE, so I specified it to use IDE, but there is no bios prompt for the controller. It seems to need to install a driver or something to config the raid.

I'm clueless at this point.
