Anybody know where and if I can download the latrst version of Suse ?

I know you have to buy the CD's but they are still open source as far as I know and may be copied right ?
Maybe there is one lying on a server somewere where I can download the latest version.

Any idea ?

Oh yea, before I forget ... NO I do not have time to mess arround with Slackware and Gentoo right now, maybe sometime in the future, right now I am still using Mandrake 9.2 but I would like to try Suse.

kaleek me

I love the way you added that as an after thought. Like you KNEW we were going to take the oppurtunity to pimp Gentoo or Slackware. biggrin.gif
I used to use SuSe, its far better than Mandrake, in my opinion. The only thing i dont like is the logo... and the names... i mean, the Control Center is called YasK or something like that.. how... foreign tongue.gif
Its a good distro though. Enjoy smile.gif

its not just the name, its Yast2 and its not really like the traditional kde control panel.. SuSE was the first linux experience i had and its excellent for a noob, it got a little boring for me.. but its a good full OS and if you get all the discs, when i had it i think it was 7, you get a good wide range of applications and a super easy managable OS thanks to yast2, which is also capable of running in your console/shell.. so GUI or console, its a nice easy distro..

p.s: when you do get the time, dont hesitate to try Slackware.

um afaik, suse isnt a nice distro to install, unless you got the cds or dvd, it is possible but you got to do a network install. if you want to try a new distro, but dont want to mess around with stuff :/ maybe try fedora, and marvel over the hectic boot screen biggrin.gif

try and let it from someone, SuSE is popular, so it shouldnt be hard to find.. there are also some sites that put ISO images up for d/l even though they shouldnt so get the ISOs from one of those.. and ISO image or (7) is the best bet..
