QUOTE(Razerzone.com)
Razer Diamondback Plasma Limited Edition
Infrared Precision Gaming Mouse

After its launch 6 months ago at the World Cyber Games 2004 in San Francisco and sweeping every major gaming industry award including Hardware of the Year 2004 (Gamespot), Editor’s Choice (PC Gamer), Editor’s Choice (Computer Gaming World) and more than 200 positive reviews and awards worldwide, Razer is launching the new Razer Diamondback Plasma – Limited Edition.

Featuring the world’s first infrared sensor for demanding gamers, the Infrared Optical Engine Powered by Razer Precision™ provides the same top notch gaming performance that gamers have come to associate with the Razer Diamondback. Utilising a tracking engine that is invisible to the naked eye, the Razer Diamondback Plasma – Limited Edition can’t get any cooler with its ice blue glow!

While the Razer Diamondback Plasma – Limited Edition is technically the same as its predecessors the Razer Diamondback Salamander and Chameleon Editions, the Razer Diamondback Plasma is a limited edition run to commemorate the first six months of the revolutionary Razer Diamondback line and the close to quarter of a million sold worldwide since its inception.

Only limited quantities of the Razer Diamondback will be available for shipping from May 2005 so get yours now!

Is that the same as Logitech's MX1000 "laser" thing which just looks like a infra red sensor? renske.gif

As far as I can tell from looking at mine, the MX1000 just uses a concentrated point of light for that, bit like those laser pointers tactical firearms have - that kind of thing. You can actually see the light though, if you look into it. It's just a tiny red dot.

I bought one from PC Gameworld in Sandton.
Also, Naked IT sells them.

If anyone is going to the Rectron Electronic Sports World Cup 2005 at the Carousel at the end of this month, I'm sure they'll be there.

Although it looks identical to the original version I can't help but be drawn by it's gimmicky title and soft blue glow: I want one! If anyone finds out where else we can get them let us know.

A64 3000+ }{ DFI LanParty UT 250GB }{ 1GB Geil Golden Dragon DDR400 }{ Sapphire X800XT PE }{ Thermaltake SP 480W
Seagate 250GB HDD }{ LG 16x DL DVD-RW }{ Antec Plusview 1000AMG }{ Razer Viper / RatpadzGS

...small, simple, safe price. Rise the wake and carry me with all of my regrets. This is not a small cut that scabs, and dries, and flakes, and heals. And I am not afraid to die. I'm not afraid to bleed, and fuck, and fight. I want the pain of payment. What's left but a section of pygmy-sized cuts, much like a slew of a thousand unwanted fucks. Would you be my little cut? Would you be my thousand fucks? And make mark-leaving space for the guilt to be liquid: to fill, and spill over and under my thoughts. My sad, sorry, selfish cry out to the cutter. I'm cutting, trying to picture your black, broken heart. Love is not like anything, especially a fucking knife...

Thanks Vinyl,

I bought my diamonback a few months ago - paid R700 crying.gif
Gave it to my brother and just bought the Plasma limited edition from PC Savers.
It's soooo coooool.
R500 - very reasonable considering $65 with shipping comes to about R440.

I checked out their site - also seem to do a product called the LinkStation - network attached storage, print and file server blah blah blah - seems very kewl. drool.gif
