Ok i downloaded and installed DSL.. which looks awesome... I also downloaded a accounting program called cubit which looks like a tar file.

Now my question is how do I install Cubit on DSL keeping in mind that i am a TOTAL NEWB to Linux...

There are three way's of installing Cubit:
1. Unpack the ISO image and remaster it. check out 101 knoppix hacks
2. Install to a partioned pendrive,harddrive or whatever and install by the usual make; make install. DSL has these script's already built in so it more than noob-able.
3. DSL has a portage like *duck* system called extention you may be lucky and find a extention.
